Phu Quoc Island to have cable car system
It is good news for tourists to Phu Quoc Island which is considered as a relaxing paradise that the island is going to have cable car system built to link An Thoi Town and Hon Thom Isle. The project has recently been approved by the People’s Committee of Kien Giang Province where Phu Quoc Island is located.
Covering a 7km long cable car system and a hotel and entertainment complex, the project will be invested at a total cost of VND10,000 billion (US$458.4 million) by the SunGroup. The first phase of the project worth VND4,900 billion (US$225 million) will be completed by 2017.
Hon Thom is an archipelago off the southern coast of Phu Quoc Island, consisting of 18 isles. It is considered as the pearl of Phu Quoc and famous for its beautiful beaches, a best place for fishing, diving and watching coral. Phu Quoc District has attracted more than 164 projects worth VND168,931 billion (US$7.7 billion).
If you wish to visit Phu Quoc, please remember that you are exempted from Vietnam visa for up to 30 days if you travel directly to Phu Quoc island from a foreign country. In case you wish to stay longer, you can apply for a visa to Vietnam. And Vietnam visa on arrival is available if you travel to Vietnam by air.
